La Bottega Nicastro offers dinners, cooking and wine tasting classes with various guest chefs and wine experts throughout the season. All classes are Italian food and wine focused unless otherwise noted. We also offer private customized cooking classes and wine tastings for corporate groups and special events, please contact us for further information at firstname.lastname@example.org
Classes & Dinners are held at our store in the Byward Market - 64 George Street.
Each class is roughly 18 people in size, with 4 seats at the bar and around 14 at a communal table. In the cooking classes there are at least 3 courses demonstrated and eaten - an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. Two glasses of wine are included unless otherwise noted. All classes and dinner are demonstration. Classes begin at 6:00 pm unless otherwise stated.

FRIDAY February 22 - COOK SICILY (sold out) - Like the different regions of neighbouring Italy, the balmy Mediterranean island of Sicily has a distinct cuisine that’s steeped in history. Produce grown on Sicily includes olives, oranges, lemons, eggplants, tomatoes, pistachios, almonds, grapes, and more—not to mention all of the seafood fished right off the coast. Wine Classes are led by a La Bottega Wine Expert - includes 6 wines with 6 food pairings. Each class is roughly 12 people in size unless otherwise indicated. Classes run from 6:00-7:30pm.
THURSDAY February 14 - Italian Sparkling Wines 101 - Bubbly is always a good idea and Italian bubbles are an even better idea. We will explore the growing world of Italian sparkling wines from Franciacorta to Prosecco, Brachetto & more. We will taste and cover: how sparkling wine is made, styles of sparkling wine, popular regions, and what makes each one so unique and special. THURSDAY March 7 - Introduction to Italian Wine & Cheese - Learn why Italy is one of the most fascinating and delicious wine regions in the world. The 20 regions of Italy grow over 350 indigenous grape varietals so it is easy to never drink the same wine twice. This class will cover the basics of the major wine producing areas and grape varietals paired with regional Italian cheeses. $59 per person. $70 per person REGISTER
THURSDAY March 14 - Wines of Tuscany - Taste through wines that have made Tuscany one of the most loved wine regions in Italy and the world. We will cover the basics of Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Super Tuscans, Morellino di Scansano and more paired with cheese and bread. $59 per person REGISTER
Cooking Classes & Wine Tastings - Terms & Conditions - Due to small class size and popularity we do have certain terms and conditions that apply to our La Scuola Bottega classes. All prices are per person. Full payment must be made upon booking. All classes are non-refundable and non-transferable to another date. If you are unable to attend you can send someone in your spot.
